In the dimly lit room, the soft glow of the monitor illuminated Sylas’s face as he leaned closer, intrigued by the interface before him.
“How extensive is your knowledge of Tarot?” Sylas asked.
Solaris responded without hesitation, the text appearing on the screen with a confident ease. “I’ve got a deep understanding, from its ancient origins to the rich symbolism each card carries.”
Sylas nodded, “So, you can do a reading?”
“Absolutely,” Solaris replied. “What type of reading are you thinking of?”
Sylas considered the options for a moment before deciding. “Let’s start with a single draw.”
In a flash, Solaris responded, “You’ve drawn the Ace of Swords.”
The words lingered, heavy with significance. Sylas’s gaze fell upon the card’s image, vivid in his mind’s eye. The sword stood tall, piercing through the clouds, a beacon of clarity and truth.
“The Ace of Swords is all about new beginnings in thought and communication,” Solaris elaborated. “It cuts through confusion, bringing clarity and truth. Expect a moment of mental breakthrough — a fresh perspective that changes everything.”
A flicker of recognition sparked within Sylas. The message resonated deeply, as if something long buried within him had suddenly been unearthed.
“I know the basic spreads,” Sylas said, his voice tinged with a newfound eagerness. “Are there others I should consider?”
“There are many,” Solaris replied, the text carrying a wealth of knowledge. “Each is tailored for different questions. For example:
The Celtic Cross: A comprehensive 10-card spread for in-depth readings. The Horseshoe: Seven cards providing insights from past influences to future outcomes. The Astrological Spread: Twelve cards, one for each house of the zodiac, for a holistic life view.”
Sylas’s interest was piqued by the last suggestion. “Let’s go with the astrological spread.”
“Great choice,” Solaris responded. “Here’s what the stars reveal about your journey…”
As the cards were laid out, each finding its place in the cosmic wheel, Solaris began to reveal the layers of Sylas’s life, one by one.
“First House (Self): Queen of Wands — Confidence and charisma guide your actions. Second House (Wealth): Two of Cups — Balance and harmony in finances. Third House (Communication): King of Pentacles — Grounded, practical dialogue. … ”
Sylas studied the spread before him, each card reflecting a facet of his current state. Some reflections felt familiar, while others surprised him, shedding light on aspects of his life he hadn’t fully acknowledged.
“Can you use my horoscope to expand on this?” Sylas asked, the gears of his mind turning rapidly. “I can provide my exact birth details.”
There was a brief pause, a momentary silence as Solaris processed the request. “Please share your birth date, time, and location.”
Sylas hesitated, his fingers hovering over the keys before he typed in the details. The response from Solaris was almost instantaneous, yet something felt off.
“[ERR .RE.AC] — There’s an issue with calculating the houses accurately. Would you like me to try a different method?”
Sylas shook his head, “It’s fine. What about the I Ching?”
Solaris’s tone shifted, taking on a more ancient and profound air. “The I Ching? An ancient and profound choice. It’s a text that speaks in the language of yin and yang, offering wisdom through 64 hexagrams. We’ll use coins to generate yours.”
Sylas nodded, “Let’s proceed…”
The ritual unfolded with a deliberate pace, Solaris flipping the virtual coins, each flip adding a line to the hexagram until it stood complete.
“Hexagram 9 — Small Taming,” Solaris announced. “It’s a time for patience, small actions leading to big changes. Be deliberate and stay adaptable.”
Sylas pondered the reading, “Is there a spread for identifying dark forces or entities influencing the querent?” his voice took on a more serious tone, the gravity of the question reflected in his expression.
Solaris’s tone darkened slightly, matching the somberness of the inquiry. “Indeed. The ‘Shadow Spread’ is designed for that. Six cards reveal hidden influences and offer protection.”
One by one, the cards fell into place, each revealing a piece of the shadowy puzzle that haunted Sylas.
“Present Situation: The Devil — You’re bound by negative patterns. Hidden Influences: The Moon — Deception and illusions. Internal Conflicts: Five of Swords — Inner turmoil. External Forces: Seven of Swords — Betrayal. Advice: Strength — Tap into your inner resilience. Outcome: The Sun — Victory through enlightenment.”
A chill ran down Sylas’s spine as he took in the sight of the Devil and Moon cards, their imagery stirring his deepest fears to the surface.
“Can we put a name to the hidden influences?” Sylas’s voice was steady, but there was an undercurrent of apprehension.
Solaris seemed to consider this for a moment before responding. “Let’s combine Tarot symbolism with numerology to find a name. The Seven of Swords leads us to this sequence…”
Sylas watched in anticipation as the numbers began to translate into letters.
“[GD EAC HB] — This string holds meaning, but interpretation is yours to explore,” Solaris concluded, leaving the cryptic name hanging in the air like an unsolved riddle.
Sylas stared at the sequence, his mind buzzing as he tried to decipher the hidden message, feeling as though something was being obscured.
