# Finding sources and reading their status

The source catalogue identifies 260 records. Its biblical baseline is complete at the book-identity level: 39 Old Testament and 27 New Testament books. It also registers major additional works, manuscript collections, and specific comparative families. Some records are components of another record, so 260 is neither a count of independent ancient books nor a claim to encompass every religion.

A record marked **catalogue identified** has an identity and a planned destination. The research status separately says whether a catalogue page was inspected or bibliographic verification remains pending. Initially, no ancient book has been marked fully read. Subsequent passage dossiers add exactly inspected ranges without turning that into a full-book claim.

**Primary URL** means a checked starting resource. Its scope field states whether it is an actual work page or only a collection/register. **Planned volumes** are editorial destinations, not dates, approved plot events, or completed chapter coverage. **Caveats** retain uncertain canon membership, numbering, recensions, and source limits.

The Biblical baseline uses identities such as `SRC-BIB-GENESIS`, `SRC-BIB-1-SAMUEL`, and `SRC-BIB-SONG-OF-SONGS`. Additional works, ancient authors, later reception, and the author's legacy books remain distinct. The legacy crosswalk uses `LEGACY-CODEX-01` through `LEGACY-CODEX-30`.
